Broadcast & Communications Veteran Launches Digital Marketing Boutique
ALBUQUERQUE – Broadcast and communications veteran Floyd E. Vasquez Jr. is joining the growing number of entrepreneurs establishing companies in Albuquerque, New Mexico. VisionBroadcast Media Services creates beautiful websites and produces compelling multimedia content for websites and social media.
Vasquez, a consultant and recent host of Morning Edition on KUNM, has made the rounds in NM’s media and communications scene. In television news, he’s worked for KRQE, KOAT, KOB and KNME. Communications work includes consultant for Vox Optima, National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs (NASDVA) and communications staff for local, state and federal agencies in New Mexico. Vasquez, an Albuquerque native and Army Veteran, is a graduate of Columbia University (BA) and worked in media and entertainment in New York City before returning to New Mexico in 2000.
Vasquez is a broadcast journalist, communications pro and creative producer fluent with the digital tools of production and distribution. "Given the power of today’s technology and the near ubiquity of broadband Internet access and smartphones, the possibilities for small businesses to leverage compelling multimedia content are limitless” says Vasquez.
Vasquez created his first website in 1995 and has created and/or worked on dozens of websites over the years. Credits include participation in the first global Internet music festival in 1996, early streaming audio and video websites, and a custom national social network created for NASDVA. Current projects include VoxOptima.com, JohnQuinones.com, JohnGarcia.vet, VisionBroadcast.com and VisionBroadcast.net.
Among the tools in the VisionBroadcast digital toolkit is Immersive Virtual Reality Video, a new medium being adopted worldwide by artists, producers, journalists, broadcasters, marketers and content creators of every kind. In New Mexico VisionBroadcast has become the first company to produce and distribute VR news and special event coverage, including the 2015 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
“All it takes is one immersive video virtual reality experience to understand its potential to reach, inspire and entertain today's media and entertainment consumers,” says Vasquez. “We'll use VR on client websites and are ready to help NM businesses leverage the power of immersive VR video and 360 stills with a la carte digital production services.
